Harley Davidson Script by Norah and Rukash-

Anchor

In 1989 Harley Davidson opened its first branch in Dubai and ever since its arrival more and more people UAE nationals seem to be drawn to the exotic culture of Harley Davidson, which is originally an American brand. In a report by Norah Sultan she speaks to the nationals of UAE and gets their point of view on the Harley Davidson culture in Dubai.

Ambiance sound of bikes

At Jbr in the Evening where the Harley Davidson bikers meet almost every day, the bikers hang out while by passers enjoy their presence there.

Ambiance sound

Having coffee at a cafĂ© was Muhammad Ahmed, a 25 years old young man. Looking at the bikers who are the center of attention at the JBR he had his opinion on them. Disturbed by the noise made by the bikes he said the UAE is being somewhat affected by western influences such as of Harley Davidson. He gave an example of a local coffee shop which is called Harley Davidson, having said that he Ahmad said, it is making a change doesn’t matter positive or negative but its leaving a footprint.

Near the JBR beach was the police was stationed, one of the police officers names Jamal spoke about experience with the Harley Davidson bikers and have there been any problems related to them. He told an anecdote, when once a guy in his Harley Davidson bike making the engine sound louder and the police officer Jamal said, he told him not to make the engine sound louder and the biker replied he was trying to impress his girlfriend. Officer Jamal we’ve had many complains and the it is unfortunate that the bikes have a UAE number plate which gives the impression to tourists that it’s the locals who are disruptive.  He continued that the situation is under control now because of the fines and restrictions imposed by the Shiekh of Dubai this has helped lower complains and problems.

Muhammad Saleh, a 31 year old local biker had a different point of view, he said people love the Harley Davidson bikes, he’s been riding a Harley since the past 4 years and says the sound is not annoying at all because the sound system developed in the Harley is meant to be like that and that is one of the things that makes Harley what it is.

Having had three different perspectives and even though the local opinions are varied and the police has faced issues regarding H.D it would be a sigh of relief knowing that the police has the matter under control and for what its worth H.D culture brings out a tradition that is welcomed and appreciated in Dubai.

fake reporting story-

Media City police Constable, Meedo Taha at a press conference at the American University of Dubai after a fire that broke out earlier in the morning.

Don’t get the fire started on a holiday—By Rukash Raza
Dubai—two causalities have been reported after a fire that broke out this morning on the 10 million $ tennis court at the American university in Dubai.
“The situation is still under investigation” said Media city police chief, Constable Meedo Taha in a press conference this morning. Constable Taha said, details are scarce at the moment but what ignites curiosity to the incident is how the fire started since there is no evidence of arsenal found at tennis court.
When asked where was the campus security at the time when the incident occurred, Constable Taha replied, since it was holiday we were off campus except for one guard who was stationed but unfortunately he was on a cigarette break when the fire broke out.
The guard who seems to be the only witness at the moment says, he saw a cloud of smoke at around 6:30 A.M this suggests the fire might have started somewhere  between 6:00 A.M to 6:15 A.M.
Mr. Taha informed that one of deceased was a student at the American University of Dubai and the victim’s family has been notified of the tragic incident whereas the other victim is still unidentified and the police are trying to seek evidence for the victim’s identity.
Substantial damage has been done to the tennis court however the cost of damage is not our biggest concern at the moment, finding the identity of one of the victim and the reason what led to fire is, the police Constable told the room filled with reporters.
No tennis rackets or gym bag was found at the tennis court which raises suspicion for the police. Instead three cigarette buds were found on the tennis court. The Constable also reported evidence of use of midwakh drug has been found alongside a bag full of pipes lying near the tennis court under a tree.
There are five camera’s positioned towards the tennis court but unfortunately three of them were obscured by trees, one of the other two that had a clear view was on a rotation of one hour and the saved memory gets removed therefore, there is only one camera that is currently being examined said the police Constable.
With the campus security absent and no footage saved in the security cameras except for one that is being examined for now it is difficult to say what caused the fire.
